The Engineering Solutions Group at NHI in India have a multi-faceted team of skilled engineers who apply their experience in design, automation, engineering analysis and product development to the needs of customers in a variety of industries. Based on a combination of engineering knowledge, software skills, and industrial experience, the Group offers a spectrum of engineering services in CAD, CAM, CAE, PDM and customization. The Group also partners with organizations to set up state-of-the-art India Development Centers (IDCs) which function as virtual extensions of the customers' engineering team.
CAD Solutions
NHI services include well-known CAD applications like Pro/Engineer, Unigraphics, CATIA, IDEAS, CADDS5, Solid Edge, and Mechanical Desktop. NHI engineering skills base is drawn from various industries such as Aerospace, Appliances, Automobile and Power Generation. With concurrent engineering solutions, well-established quality processes and best design methodology, the Group ensures shorter and more efficient design cycles.
Product Design: The NHI's team assists in the entire product design and development process, right from concept and design, product layout/assembly planning, and component design, to assembly design, assembly analysis and product packaging design. This is achieved through a close interaction with the customer to ensure the best results.
Legacy Conversion: Old drawings on paper or from an old CAD package can be converted to the latest CAD packages. The Group ensures cost effectiveness, consistent quality and quick turnaround.
- Modeling: The Group's complex 3D geometrical models express built-in design intent, and behavioral modeling is used to optimize the design. The models can be completely parametric, with interdependent dimensions driven by relations. The best possible techniques are used to obtain the optimal CAD model.
- Drafting: The Group generates engineering production drawings or assembly layout drawings to match customer specifications. International drafting standards set by ISO, DIN, JIS, ANSI, BIS or other user-specified standards are followed.
- Assembly: This involves creation of initial layouts and top-down assemblies with modular methodology is our specialty.
- Tolerance analysis, Interference checks and Mass property calculation: The Group performs tolerance analysis for assemblies using the latest software. Assemblies are modified to improve stability, using information about center of gravity and moment of inertia.
- Cabling, wire harness and piping: This includes optimum 3D routing and calculation of the best cable routing paths is done with due consideration to required design parameters like magnetic and thermal interference.
- Fabrication drawings and Bill of Material (BOM) generation: From the component model/drawing, the Group generates fabrication drawings with reference to the fabrication process. All required dimensional tolerances and surface finish data are added wherever necessary. The Bill of Material (BOM) is derived from the CAD assembly and can be generated in customer-defined format.
CAM Solutions
NHI's CAM solutions encompass all the well-known applications including Unigraphics, CATIA, IDEAS, Pro/Mfg., CADDS5, Tebis, Surfcam, Smartcam, Mastercam, and Euclid.
- NC Tool Path Generation: NC Tool Paths can be created both in 3-axis and 5-axis mode with CAD models as reference, simulating the tool path for gouging.
- Post Processors: Development of Post Processors for various machine controllers such as FANUC and FIDIA.
- Tool and die design: Design and development of press tools, jigs and fixtures, dies and punches, die design for cast, forged and sheet metal components.
- Prototype development: Noble House India understanding of tool design and the organization's tie-ups with manufacturing organizations in India enables it to provide the best services in prototype development with minimum lead-time. (The Group does not have its own manufacturing set-up. However, it has tied up with some of the best toolmakers and machine shops in India. These collaborations allow the Group to guarantee timely, reliable and cost-effective delivery of manufacturing solutions.)
- Mold Design: The Group provides mold designs for plastic components from finished product data.
