Reuven Bar-On, Ph.D.
The BarOn EQi:RV was developed as an assessment tool to gain insight into the organizations level of emotional functioning. The BarOn EQ-interview™ RV is designed to be used during the interview process following the administration of BarOn EQ-i®. The results revealed by the interview can be used to corroborate information obtained by BarOn EQ-i®.
The interview is structured according to the 15 subscales of BarOn EQ-i®. For each of the EQ-i® subscales, EQ-interview™ provides probing questions designed to elicit information about the interviewee's functioning in each area. Using information derived from the probing questions, the interviewer then rates the individual on a number of items. The ratings are made on a five-point scale ranging from "Very Seldom True of Him/Her" to "Very Often True of Him/Her."
The BarOn EQi:RV can be used to assist in the decisions with regard to how and where to apply emotional intelligence training and focus, Group profiling (department, team ... ), Star Profiling for recruitment and when management or employee development initiatives are being considered. Research indicates that there is a strong correlation between emotional intelligence and job performance, making this the ideal interview tool an aid in understanding the emotional intelligence functioning of the organization.
